The aim of the Rural Achievers Award is to reward the efforts of young Australians linked to agriculture who go the extra step in contributing to viable agricultural industries, Show communities and rural areas at large. Previous entrants have seen a boost in their careers, progressing to work on successful properties, employed in agribusiness and furthering their studies in the agricultural industry. The Award is open to all residents of NSW aged between 20 and 27.

The Royal Agricultural Society of NSW (RAS) is encouraging entries in its annual Rural Achievers Award from all across the state. Nominations for ambitious and enthusiastic young achievers in the rural sector are welcomed by the RAS, with entries usually closing October 2010.
Eight finalists from across the state will be chosen to attend the Sydney Royal Easter Show where they will be given an all expenses paid stay at the Show. This will include a ‘behind the scenes’ look at Australia’s largest event, prize money up to $2000, tours of The Land and Rural Press, invitations to official functions including a cocktail reception at Government House as well as outfitting in the latest country clothing and an Akubra hat.
The eight finalists will be chosen from the Zone Judging Sessions held in early December 2010 at Tamworth, Orange and Wagga Wagga.
