Agricultural Societies Council Youth Group of NSW

 

Are you a young person involved in your Agricultural Show or Youth team? 

Do you want to meet like-minded people?

Do you want to form an Agricultural Youth Team for your local show society?

If you answered YES  to any of the above questions then you should attend the next Agricultural Societies Council Youth Group of NSW Weekends.

 

THE AGRICULTURAL YOUTH TEAM AIMS

  1. Encourage networking assistance and support to young people in rural NSW in their involvement in Agricultural Shows.
  2. Develops sustainable methods to secure a strong member base and financial security of the organisation.
  3. Support and cooperate with like organisations including ASC, RAS and youth organisations throughout Australia and New Zealand.
  4. Secure the future of Agricultural Shows in rural and regional NSW.
  5. Promote the activities of the group and their members to the wider community to encourage growth in support.

 

WHERE WE ARE GOING…

  • We were established in 2001 with 15 members, we now have 200+ members and growing!
  • Expanding interstate and internationally into New Zealand.
  • Working towards having AY team members in all show society’s across NSW.
  • To make good mates for life.
  • To continue to promote the involvement of young people in rural shows and agriculture using a fun and constructive manner.

 

THE ‘EASEY’ APPROACH

The AY Team likes to maintain an ‘EASEY’ approach:

Encourage - Encourage youth to support the future of rural and regional agricultural shows.

Achieve - Sustainability of the organisation and growth in membership base.

Support - Other like organisations including Agricultural Societies Council of NSW (ASC) and Royal Agricultural Society of NSW (RAS) in developing youth based activities.

Enrich - Allow members to learn and enrich their personal development while supporting their community.

Youth - Driven by the youth of our Agricultural Shows.

 

WHAT DO WE DO…

  • Participate in local shows
  • Stewarding
  • Organising events and novelty activities
  • Provide assistance in the general running of the show
  • Promote youth involvement in shows
  • Junior judging & Showgirl Competitions
  • Annual Wagga Wagga “Showall” Rural Ball
  • Organise and coordinate the Youth Exchange program
  • Social Weekends and Activities
  • Held Twice a year in various locations across NSW
  • Fundraisers
  • Networking opportunities
  • Sharing ideas, experiences and brainstorming
  • Developing great friendships
  • Show Exchange Program
  • AY team networking with each other at various shows
  • Youth members exchanging with other show societies
  • Supporting the show movement statewide
  • Provide help for Showday events
